Jean-­Marc JAKOB


Former Captain on B747 100/300, B757 / 767. Mr. Jakob is presently Capt. B747­400 and Ttype Ratings Instructor (TRI) with a total flight time of 11’000 h. He is the Head of Training Department and sits on the Company's board of Directors.

Mr. JAKOB, a Swiss and Spanish citizen, born on April 7th 1969; started his flight training in Flight Safety International, Vero Beach (FL) in 1988 and followed multiple courses until obtaining in 1992, in Crossair Training Centre, Basel, a JAR Airline Transport Pilot Licence. His flying career began in 1989 as bush pilot in Liberia flying for Weasua Air Transport and later for Air Inter Ivoire, an Air Taxi operator based in Ivory Coast. Due to his experience in difficult flying conditions, he was hired to fly a Pilatus Porter for medical support in a United Nations mission in Western Sahara in 1991. After 1 year as F/O on Fokker F­27 Freighter operated by Farner Air Transport he joined Trans European Airlines in 1993, on Boeing 737–300/700 operating charter flights as well as «wet lease» contracts for Vietnam Airlines and Air Afrique. He was promoted to Captain in April 1996. After a short period in Virgin Express as Captain on B 737–300/400, he joined Air Plus Comet in Feb. 2000 as A 310 and later B 747 Training Captain operating charter and scheduled passenger routes to central and south America. In 2005 he was promoted to Quality Assurance Manager for the operations department. Presently completing a University Degree in Psychology at the University “Walter Odermatt” of Lucerne, Switzerland, Cpt JAKOB developed CRM & Human Factors courses for flight crew and aviation managers.


Lev ZUERCHER


Capt. Lev ZUERCHER holds a Boeing 747 100/300 and Boeing 747 - 400 Type ratings as Captain with a total flight time of 9’000 h. He is at the Head of LEVITAIR's management and sits on the Company's board of Directors.

Mr. ZUERCHER, a Swiss and French citizen, born on October 16th. 1967, started his aviation career in 1986 as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Switzerland. Attracted by challenged and hard work, he began his commercial flying experience in Canada with Hydro Quebec, flying in the extreme winter weather conditions across the James Bay and Hudson Bay. Back in Europe in 1991, he was employed to fly the Pilatus-Porter and the Antonov AN-32 for various organizations specialized in Skydiving and Topographical operation across Europe, and for the count of the UNITED NATIONS and Oil rig platforms across Western Sahara, Algeria and Morocco. In 1994 he joined the Farner Air transport Freight Operation to fly the Fokker F27 across Europe, Africa and Middle East until obtaining in 1997, at the Crossair Training Centre, Basel, his JAR Airline Transport Pilot licence. After a period at SWISS/Crossair, he flew the MD83/MD88/MD90 as a Free Lance Pilot initially for EDELWEISS in Switzerland and then BWIA (British West Indian Airways) in Trinidad & Tobago, performing ETOPS operation from the Caribbean to Miami and New-York JFK. In 2000, after the completion of a Japanese JCAB and FAA Airline Transport Pilot license, he joined Japan Airlines Int. Co., Ltd. Tokyo Japan and JALways Co., Ltd. in Honolulu Hawaii as a McDonnell Douglas DC10 and Boeing 747 Captain to operate across the Pacific, Asia and Australia.
